Mode Weddings ~ Photography for best friends in love

Jason and Lindsay chose Burfoot Park as the site for their fun engagement session. We all met downtown first and escaped the late afternoon heat by stopping into Mercato for some refreshments and dinner.  We enjoyed hearing stories about how they met during high school and good times with their large and close-knit circle of friends - which includes many that have been around since their HS days.  We can’t wait for their wedding and the chance to meet their friends - it’s sure to be a blast….

We managed to hit the gorgeous Burfoot beach just before sunset — perfect timing

When we hiked back up to the play area, their yellow lab, Buck, joined in the fun - he LOVES to fetch the ball!

Dee and Luis are planning an amazing wedding celebration next month - complete with horse drawn carriage and espresso cart to serve the guests!  The date is actually their wedding anniversary, that’s right, they’re married already!  Luis has been overseas with the army for much of their marriage and they never had the time to plan a wedding.  He’s now officially retired from the army and working at the VA hospital.  He tells us he loves being able to come home every night!

They both have easygoing personalities and great senses of humor and we can’t wait to capture the festivities on their special day.  Check out a few favorite images:

Chad and Shawna met us at Tumwater Falls Park on Sunday for an engagement session - we got so lucky with the weather I can’t hardly believe it!  What a beautiful afternoon.  Erin and I had a blast and I think it’s safe to say that Chad and Shawna did tool

We had a nice dinner at the Fall’s Terrace Restaurant and then headed down to the waterfront to take a few more pictures as the sun went down.

My best friend Dave is getting married!  His fiance Shawnia (pronounced Shawna) is great — Erin and I are both happy to see them so happy.

I flew over for a couple days and hung out with them - I seriously can’t overstate how happy it makes me to see Dave so in love and so loved.

A crisp January afternoon in downtown Olympia. We had a great time getting to know Becky and Everett yesterday. A big thanks to Becky’s brother Chris, owner of Last Call Entertainment, for recommending us (btw we highly recommend Chris if you need a DJ/MC for your event, he’s first rate.)

The near freezing temps provided great encouragement for Becky and Everett to cuddle close together but, to tell the truth, I don’t think they needed the ‘help’ - it’s obvious that they are connected at the soul and naturally drawn to each other, which made our job for the day easy and fun.

A rare moment for two people that are a laugh a minute…yep - this is as serious as they get, and it lasted for about a second…as soon as the shutter clicked they cracked each other up.

We couldn’t resist ducking into McMenamin’s “The Spar” for some happy hour warmth and refreshment….and some great conversations!  Becky and Everett have known each other since the 5th grade…but it was after Becky returned home from college when they really ‘found’ each other….out with a group of friends one night, Becky found herself stranded and Everett came to her rescue….he managed to get her phone number outta the deal…she thought his calls were just so two old friends could hang together, but we’re pretty sure Everett had other plans right from the start

Thanks, Becky and Everett - you were great sports to be willing to head back out for some fun shots in the evening chill.  We had a great time with this shoot and we can’t wait for your wedding!
